Your day-by-day itinerary.
An active 12-day journey through Accra, Ada, the historic coast and the Eastern Region. Several days involve substantial road travel. Final routing, accommodation and access will be agreed in your written offer.
This 23 December 2026–3 January 2027 journey spans Christmas and New Year. The daily programme remains proposed; holiday opening hours and any concerts, festivals or special celebrations must be confirmed before booking.
Day 01Akwaaba — arrive in Accra
23 Dec: Airport welcome, transfer and check-in. Meet your group for an orientation and time to rest. No sightseeing is scheduled before your flight arrival is confirmed.
Day 02Accra’s independence & old-town story
24 Dec: Visit Black Star Square (Independence Square), Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum, and the Arts Centre for National Culture. Continue to Jamestown for a guided neighbourhood introduction. Allow time for lunch and road traffic.
Day 03Christmas by the water — Aqua Safari
25 Dec: A day trip from Accra to Aqua Safari Resort in Ada, with an early departure and time to relax. Resort entry, meals and any boat or water activities must be specified in your offer; Christmas availability is subject to confirmation. Return to Accra.
Day 04Pan-African stories & contemporary Accra
26 Dec: Explore the W. E. B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan-African Culture and Cantonments. Visit the Hamamat Shea Butter Museum by arrangement, then discover East Legon. A Kofi Annan Centre visit is requested, subject to confirmation of the specific institution and prior visitor approval; the final route will reflect its location.
Day 05Assin Manso — the Last Bath
27 Dec: Leave Accra early for Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park, the remembrance site associated with the Last Bath. Continue to Cape Coast for an overnight stay. Coastal accommodation will be named separately in your written offer.
Day 06Cape Coast Castle & Elmina Castle
28 Dec: Guided visits to Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, with a lunch break and space for reflection. Explore Elmina’s coastal setting at a respectful pace. Overnight in the Cape Coast / Elmina area.
Day 07Return to Accra — Osu Castle & Osu
29 Dec: Travel back to Accra. Plan an Osu Castle visit if arrival time and access allow, followed by time in Osu. If the transfer runs late, the castle visit moves to another available Accra slot rather than shortening the coastal heritage visits.
Day 08Aburi Botanical Gardens
30 Dec: A dedicated excursion to Aburi Botanical Gardens for a guided walk and a quieter day among the trees. Return to Accra with time to rest. Walking arrangements will be adapted to the group’s needs.
Day 09Boti Falls & New Year’s Eve
31 Dec: An early-start excursion to Boti Falls in the Eastern Region, returning to Accra for a proposed New Year’s Eve meal. Water flow is seasonal; access, steps and current conditions will be checked before the visit. If conditions are unsuitable, agree an alternative Accra day. Any New Year event tickets are confirmed separately.
Day 10New Year in Ghana
1 Jan: Your extended stay continues. The programme and services for this additional day will be confirmed in your written itinerary.
Day 11Your final full day in Ghana
2 Jan: A further day before departure. Activities, accommodation and transport arrangements will be confirmed in your written itinerary.
Day 12Departure — until we meet again
3 Jan: Check out and transfer for your confirmed flight. Departure-day activities depend on flight times and are not guaranteed.
